From Astros games to the Texas Capitol, Mariachi Luna Llena has become the university’s most vibrant musical ambassador.
Rice’s Mariachi Luna Llena hit all the right notes on Houston’s biggest stages last fall, delivering an exuberant performance of the national anthem at both an Astros game and a Houston Dynamo match. Founded in 2013, the mostly undergraduate ensemble has become one of Rice’s most visible musical ambassadors, showcasing the vibrant spirit of the mariachi tradition everywhere from Miller Outdoor Theatre to the Texas Capitol rotunda.
